2022 Pacific Division Preview

Western Conference

Pacific Division

Some decent teams in this division, but none that jump out as a clear front runner. This should be a competitive division in 2022.

Oakland Icons
Offense: average
Defense: good
Overall: average
Oakland is coming off a division championship last season, and they are in a good position to start 2022 if they want to repeat that feat. The offense is alright; nothing flashy, but they’ll get the job done. The defense is what can win the Icons team games. They’ve got solid players throughout that should help them grind out games.

Portland Samurais
Offense: average
Defense: poor
Overall: average
In the move from Dallas, the Samurais will take something along with them, a poor defense. Fortunately they’ll have some offensive playmakers in their new home of Portland. Young talent at the running back position, paired with raw talent at the quarterback position. If this offense can click, then they’d hopefully be able to make up the points given up on the defensive side of the ball.

Seattle Sockeyes
Offense: poor
Defense: average
Overall: average
Seattle just wasn’t able to get things to click last season. The offense has some possible young playmakers, but as a whole they won’t beat you in the trenches. The defense is going to have to keep this team in games. They should match up well enough with Oakland and Portland, that if they can get some divisional wins, they can make a play at the division crown.

Vancouver Bears
Offense: average
Defense: poor
Overall: poor
There’s going to be some growing pains for the Bears in their inaugural season. There are some playmakers here and there on both sides of the ball, but there are also many holes to be filled. Given their schedule, the Bears can compete in divisional, and non divisional games this season, it’ll just be a question of which Bears team shows up from week to week.
